Tips For Using A Golf Cart Responsibly

- Carts should be operated with courtesy, care and consideration for the safety and convenience of persons walking, jogging, inline skating, skate boarding, bicycling, or those in wheelchairs or mobility assistance devices.
- Remembering the following tips can help you operate a cart responsibly:
- Carts should only be operated from the driver's side.
- The maximum speed of a golf cart depends upon the terrain over which it is being driven, the weather conditions, and the total weight of the golf cart and passengers and any equipment being carried. A golf cart should be operated at a speed equivalent to a well-paced walk.
- A golf cart should not be operated with more passengers than it is designed to carry.
- Before operating the golf cart, check for proper tire condition and inflation. Tire pressures should be checked once a month for proper inflation.
- Brakes should be checked for proper operation. Check for any indication of battery fluid leaks such as wet spots under the unit.
- Golf cars do not provide protection from lightning; seek appropriate shelter if lightning is present.
- When the golf cart is not in use, place the golf cart control lever in the "Neutral" position and remove the key.
- When the golf cart is not to be used over-night, secure it with a cable and lock or other equivalent locking mechanism.
- Use only an approved battery charger to recharge the batteries.
